The six-fight main card of World Series of Fighting 33 has been finalized with the addition of three bouts featuring former UFC fighters Jason High, John Howard, and Shawn Jordan, WSOF announced Tuesday.
High (19-5) is slated to take on WSOF tournament finalist Joao Zeferino (20-8) in a match likely to determine the No. 1 contender for the lightweight title, while Howard (24-12) meets Abubakar Nurmagomedov (12-1-1) -- the cousin of UFC contender Khabib Nurmagomedov -- in a welterweight contest, and Jordan (18-7) is scheduled to make his WSOF debut against The MMA Lab product Ashley Gooch (10-4) in a heavyweight affair.
WSOF 33 takes place Oct. 7 at the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO. The six-fight, three-hour main card broadcasts live on NBC Sports Network.
The event is headlined by a pair of title fights, as WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje looks to defend his belt against Ozzy Dugulubgov in the main event, while David Branch looks to make the first defense of his light heavyweight title against jiu-jitsu wizard Vinny Magalhaes in the co-headlining bout.
