The UFC has added another top lightweight to its roster on Tuesday, as Marcin Held announced that he has signed a deal with the UFC. MMA Fighting confirmed the news with the promotion.
The UFC has yet to announce a date and opponent for Held’s debut.
Held (22-4) recently beat Dave Jensen via decision at Bellator 155 in May, improving to 11-3 under the promotion’s banner. During his run at Bellator, the jiu-jitsu specialist beat the likes of Alexander Sarnavskiy, Patricky Freire, Derek Anderson and Phillipe Nover.
A one-time tournament finalist at Bellator, Held earned a shot at the title after winning six in a row between 2013 and 2015, but lost to Will Brooks via decision last November. After his win over Held, Brooks also left the promotion to sign with the UFC.
