A pair of highly-ranked featherweights will clash when the UFC makes its return to Portland, as Brian Ortega will face off with Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 96. The Los Angeles Daily News was the first outlet to break the news.
Ortega, 25, is ranked no. 9 at featherweight and on a three-fight win streak. He most recently bested Clay Guida in June at UFC 199, winning via KO late in the third round.
Dias, 32, currently holds the no. 10 position in the UFC's featherweight division. He enters this fight having won two of his last three, but dropped his last fight in April to Cub Swanson at UFC on FOX 19.
UFC Fight Night 96 takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. This marks the second event in the city and the first return since UFC 102 in August of 2009.
That card also features bouts such as Will Brooks vs. Alex Oliveira, Josh Burkman vs. Bobby Green, Kelly Faszholz vs. Ketlen Vieira, Walt Harris vs. Shamil Abdurakhimov, Tamdan McCrory vs. Nate Marquardt and Louis Smolka vs. Sergio Pettis.
