UFC on FOX 21 live blog: Anthony Pettis vs. Charles Oliveira

This is the UFC on FOX 21 live blog for Anthony Pettis vs. Charles Oliveira, a featherweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Pettis, who has won two of his past five fights, will face Oliveira, who has won four of his past five fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Here we go with the co-main event of the card. Lets see in Pettis can bounce back from being 0-3. They touch gloves. Oliveira immediately looking to take the fight to the ground clinches Pettis against the cage. Pettis doing a good job defeding the single leg but can;t shake off Oliveira. Pettis gets away from the cage, and the fight is back on standing. Oliveira again looking to take the fight to the ground clinches Pettis and  gets him down to the ground. Oliveira takes Pettis' back, but Pettis reverses the position and ends on top. Pettis gets back on his feet and lands a brutal body kick that drops Oliveira. Pettis moves on top and lands ground and pound. Oliveira is in trouble but just doing enough to avoid the stoppage. The scramble and Oliveira gets top position. Pettis gets out unloads ground and pound on a downed Oliveira. Fun round and the bell signals the end of it.

Round 2: Oliveira pressing forward to start the round. They both land solid combinations. Oliveira clinches Pettis and gets him to the ground just briefly. Pettis gets back up on his feet. Oliveira still looks hurt, but presses forward. They clinch against the cage. Oliveira with some nice combinations. Nice straight left by Oliveira. Pettis is looking tired. Again, Oliveira clinches Pettis, hops on his back, and takes him to the ground. Oliveira looking for a submission but Pettis defending well. One minute and a half left. Pettis reverses the position, landing in Oliveira's guard. Pettis is back on his feet, and the stand up war resumes. Ten seconds left and Oliveira lands a take down. Fun round.

Round 3: Both fighters look tired. Again, Oliveira presses forward and takes down Pettis against the cage. Oliveira moves to side control, and Pettis attacks with an arm bar. Oliveira escapes and goes back to side control. Four minutes left. Pettis reverses the position. They get into another scramble and Pettis catches Oliveira's neck. With the guillotine locked up, Pettis pulls guard and taps Oliveira, returning to the wining column. Solid performance from the former champion.
