Four days after his brother fought Conor McGregor at UFC 202, Nick Diaz had his own fight in Las Vegas, but his wasn't against only one man.
According to TMZ Sports, the former UFC welterweight title challenger was jumped by four men outside a nightclub early Wednesday morning. Per reports, Diaz went to the bathroom outside the club Hyde in the Bellagio Casino around 2:30 a.m. and accidentally bumped into another man. Diaz said he apologized and that he didn't want any trouble but the guy didn't take it well and he and three others jumped Diaz.
"I didn't start it," Diaz told TMZ. "People like to hate."
A rep spoke to TMZ confirming Diaz's story, saying that Nick was not the aggressor in the incident and that the attackers were swinging chairs and fighting with club and casino employees.
When asked if the men were trying to fight him because of his notoriety as an MMA fighter, TMZ reported that Diaz did not believe the men knew who he was. Diaz also declined to press charges, noting that "They got the worst of it."
Taylor Fisher, a spokesperson for Hyde Las Vegas, said the fight did not happen inside the nightclub, so she didn't have information on the situation.
"We enjoyed having Nick at Hyde Bellagio last night and never had any problems with him in the club," Fisher said. "He was very well behaved."
MGM spokesperson Ivette Monet said she was unable to provide information on the incident due to "guest privacy purposes."
While no major injuries seem to have been incurred, TMZ reports that Diaz got a "nasty gash" on the top of his head which may require stitches but which Diaz say won't impede his return to sanctioned fighting.
Neither Diaz nor his manager Lloyd Pierson responded to requests for confirmation.
This caps a rough week Diaz. After a bottle-throwing melee between Team McGregor and Team Diaz at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference, all members of both entourages were banned with the exception of licensed cornermen.
Diaz was not licensed to corner his brother Nate in the main event fight, because he is still currently suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) until he can pay the balance of his $100,000 fine (he still owes $75,000) or enter into a payment plan. Diaz was suspended 18 months and fined that amount after testing positive for marijuana, his third offense, in 2015.
Diaz's 18 months ended July 31st. He is expected to return to active competition soon but an opponent has yet to be announced.

Not sure Nate Diaz and James Irvin have ever been considered equals.
Imagine a world in which Anderson Silva had had the piss slapped out of him by James Irwin, and then ended up having a 'trilogy' with him.

Nate only ever wants to fight this dude.
Does Conor ever stand normally?
Good lord.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I'm trying to decide if ending up in a brawl with Nick Diaz is a good thing or a bad thing. I mean, obviously it is a bad thing; you're gonna get your ass handed to you. But in the grand scheme of "fighters I wouldn't want to accidentally be brawling with" is Nick on the high or low end of the spectrum? On the one hand, Nick might don't-be-scared-homie your joints on the wrong way. On the other hand, he seems like a pretty chill dude so if you realize the error of your ways and then tap, it feels like he would let that be the end of it.There is also the small chance he just mugs and embarrasses you which can buy you enough time until security comes and saves you.
What do y'all think? On a scale of Anthony Johnson to Demian Maia (he would take you down and quietly submit you without hurting you at all) where does Nick rank?
See you tomorrow M.Rmy.
