Conor McGregor sets new UFC record with $3 million purse at UFC 202

LAS VEGAS — This is the definition of a big money fight.

Conor McGregor will make a disclosed $3 million fight purse at UFC 202 for his main event fight against Nate Diaz at T-Mobile Arena. Diaz will make $2 million. Neither one of them will get a win bonus. The information was released Saturday at the start of the event by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC).

Brock Lesnar made the previous record of $2.5 million disclosed at UFC 200 last month. McGregor had the record before that, the first $1 million purse in UFC history at UFC 196 in March.

Both McGregor and Diaz are likely much more than just the disclosed purses. McGregor said this week that he was making more than $10 million. Diaz is likely in a similar range.

In the co-main event, Anthony Johnson is taking home $135,000 to show and another $135,000 if he wins. Glover Teixeira is making $65,000 and $65,000.

Also of note, Donald Cerrone's purse is $85,000 to show and $85,000 to win.

UFC 202 is headlined by the big Diaz vs. McGregor rematch. Diaz beat McGregor at UFC 196 in March.

The winner of Johnson vs. Teixeira will likely fight for the UFC light heavyweight title against champion Daniel Cormier.
