UFC 202 live blog: Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Mike Perry

This is the UFC 202 live blog for Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Mike Perry, a welterweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Lim, who has won three of his past five fights, will face Perry, who is making his UFC debut, on the main card.

Round 1: Big John McCarthy is the third man. Lim looks huge. No touch of gloves. Right hand by Parry, and now a leg kick from him countered by a right hand. Lim is freaking enormous for a welter; it's unsettling the difference. Leg kick by Perry, who gets on his bike and rolls out. Another leg kick. Lim made a face after that one. Body shot from Perry lands; a nice varied attack for the smaller fighter. Uppercut by Lim lands, and Perry rolls along fence. Perry trying to stay elusive, changing levels, and boom he his Lim with a big shot that drops him! Perry pounces and he's working on trying to get sidde control. Now he's working his way into a crucific, and Lim trying to squeeze out — so far he can't. Not Lim scrambles and gets out. He's up! They reset. Big tleft hand from Lim, and now a massive right hand from Perry crumbles Lim on his back! Perry is trying to finish. He is wailing on Lim, who is barely surviving. Lim taking the punishment as McCarthy looks on. He gets up and BOOM, another still left hand drops him again! A forearm to the face, and that's it! Damn, Perry carved Lim up.
