Alexa Grasso was one of the best women's fighters in the world not in the UFC. That second part is no longer the case.
Grasso has signed with the UFC and will face Heather Jo Clark at The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3 Finale on Nov. 5 in Mexico City, MMA Fighting confirmed Thursday with UFC officials. Indiscutido was the first to report the news.
Grasso (8-0) is perhaps the best prospect in the women's strawweight division. The former Invicta fighter is coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over Ultimate Fighter alum Jodie Esquibel last month. Grasso, 23, was a perfect 4-0 for Invicta. The Mexican fighter has a chance to be a major star in her country and beyond.
Clark (7-5) is a grizzled MMA veteran and alum of The Ultimate Fighter 20. The Las Vegas resident most recently fell in a hard-fought unanimous decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in May. Clark, 35, won two in a row prior to that bout. She trains at Xtreme Couture alongside her good friends Miesha Tate and Bryan Caraway.
The TUF Latin America 3 Finale will be headlined by a lightweight contender bout between former champ Rafael dos Anjos and Tony Ferguson. Beneil Dariush vs. Rashid Magomedov, another top lightweight fight, has also been announced.
