A lightweight match up pitting Derek Campos vs. Djamil Chan has been added to Bellator 161 to complete its main card. The news was announced on Thursday via a press release.
Campos is returning to the Bellator cage after knocking out MMA veteran Melvin Guillard at earlier this year at Bellator 149. Prior to that, the 28-year-old fighter was on a two fight losing streak, losing to Brandon Girtz and current Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
His opponent, Chan, is 12-2 as a professional fighter and is currently riding a seven-fight wining streak. The 26-year-old Chan last fought at Bellator 153 in April where he knocked out former WSOF title challenger Richard Patishnock.
Bellator 161 takes place on Sept. 16 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas. Heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Tony Johnson are scheduled to battle in the main event of the card.
