Miesha Tate vows to rip Amanda Nunes' 'heart out of her chest' at UFC 200

The countdown to UFC 200 is officially on, and barring another whirlwind change, the main event is set.

UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes both made weight on Friday morning, making their headlining bout official. Hours later, Tate called her shot at the televised weigh-ins.

"I'm so excited. I'm going to go out there tomorrow and I'm going to rip her heart out of her chest," Tate said in front of a packed house at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. "I'm going to stomp on it, and I will be the reigning champion. This is a crazy turn of events. Thank you guys all so much for being here."

Tate and Nunes were originally slated to fight on the main card of UFC 200, but were upgraded into a starring role late Thursday night due to the positive drug test of Jon Jones.

The late switch made Tate-Nunes the third different fight to headline UFC 200 since the event was first announced in the spring, however an already wacky fight week almost careened even further off the rails on Friday morning, when Tate narrowly avoided the deadline to weigh-in.

Had disaster struck and Tate missed the morning weigh-ins, Tate would have been pulled from UFC 200, a UFC spokesperson told MMA Fighting. She checked in just at the nick of time though, tipping the scales at 134.5 pounds and preserving UFC 200's main event.

Nunes, meanwhile, weighed in at 135, then promised to upset the champion on Saturday night.

"I'm 100-percent sure I'm going to take this belt tomorrow," Nunes said. "Be ready, guys."

Complete results and video of UFC 200's morning weigh-ins can be seen here.

UFC 200 takes place July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
