World Series of Fighting is the latest national promotion to announce a debut in the Empire State.
The company is planning a Dec. 31 event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden at Manhattan, WSOF announced on Saturday night.
The 5,500-seat venue is adjacent to the main arena atop Penn Station and has hosted many boxing events over the years.
The card, which will air live on NBC, is still pending approval of the New York State Athletic Commission.
"We have been working diligently with the staff at the New York State Athletic Commission as well as the executives at Madison Square Garden to complete all of the necessary steps to make this historic and great event happen on New Year's Eve," said WSOF CEO Carlos Silva.
No bouts have been named for the card, which will be held less than two months after the UFC's much-anticipated UFC 205 card on Nov. 12.
