UFC 201 bonuses: Rose Namajunas and Karolina Kowalkiewicz take home FOTN honors

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

It was Tyron Woodley's night in Atlanta.

Not only did the American Top Team fighter defeat Robbie Lawler to take home the UFC's welterweight title at UFC 201 on Saturday, he also took home $50,000 in bonus money.

Woodley was awarded a Performance of the Night honor for his knockout of Lawler, which took place at the 2:12 of the first round. It was only the second time in Lawler's 16-year professional career that he'd been finished via KO. The first came against Nick Diaz at UFC 47 in 2004.

Also taking home bonus money for a POTN was Jake Ellenberger, who needed a win in the worst way in his fight against perennial top 10 fighter Matt Brown. Ellenberger, who'd lost five of his previous six bouts, finished Brown early with a body kick (and subsequent punches) at 1:46 of the first round. It was the first knockout for the 31-year old Ellenberger since 2013, when he put away Nate Marquardt at UFC 158.

Taking home Fight of the Night honors were strawweight contenders Rose Namajunas and Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who fought in the co-main event at UFC 201. It was the Polish fighter Kowalkiewicz who scored the upset over the TUF 20 fighter Namajunas, via a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Kowalkiewicz is now expected to face current 115-pound champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Each of the aforementioned fighters received $50,000.
