Apparently, reports of Jake Ellenberger's professional demise were premature.
The veteran Nebraskan took it to Matt Brown in a stunning welterweight matchup Saturday night at UFC 201, earning a TKO victory at Atlanta's Philips Arena in the opening round.
Ellenberger came out from the jump and tagged Brown with a wicked overhand right on the button. Ellenberger swarmed Brown on the mat, but couldn't quite finish him.

Ellenberger (31-11) , who now trains at Kings MMA, got back in the win column after a string in which he lost five out of six fights.
"Matt is a hell of a fighter," Ellenberger said. "I want to thank everyone at Kings MMA. For me, I had to refocus. I was trying to finish but Matt has shown in the past he's extremely durable. I just have to stop being so damn nice."
Brown (20-15) has lost four of his past five fights.
