Christine Stanley in, Irene Aldana out of Invicta FC 18

Invicta is shuffling the deck just three days out of its card.

Two Brazilian fighters, Claudia Rey and Taila Santos, are both out of Invicta FC 18 due to travel issues, the promotion announced Tuesday. Rey and Santos acquired visas, but could not get physical travel documents in time to make the trip to the United States. Invicta 18 is set for Friday night in Kansas City.

Santos was set to face Irene Aldana in the co-main event of the card, but that bout has been scrapped. Aldana will fight at Invicta FC 19 in September.

In Rey's place, Christine Stanley will step in against Polish prospect Agnieszka Niedzwiedz and that will be the new co-main event. Stanley (5-1) has been impressive in two straight Invicta wins, the most recent coming against Shannon Sinn in May. Niedwiedz (7-0), making her Invicta debut, has won six of her seven fights via finish and is just 21 years old.

Invicta FC 18 is headlined by a women's strawweight contender bout between Alexa Grasso and Jodie Esquibel. Also on the card, UFC veteran Jessamyn Duke will meet Peggy Morgan. The event will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
