Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Eddie Wineland cued up a vintage performance for his hometown fans on Saturday.

The first-ever WEC bantamweight champion brought his heavy hands with him to UFC on FOX 20 in Chicago on Saturday, as he dropped Frankie Saenz for a TKO win in the third round.

"Everyone knows I have power in my hand," Wineland (22-11) said after his 12th career KO/TKO win. "I'm a 135 pounder with one-punch knockout power."

The first two rounds were back and forth, with Wineland generally getting the better of things but the durable Saenz also having his fair share of moments.

Saenz didn't have an answer in the third, through, as Wineland dropped him with a brutal counter right hand which sent Saenz crashing to the mat. A wobbly Saenz surprisingly got back to his feet, only to eat a few more punches before the bout was waved off at the 1:54 mark.

Saenz (11-4) dropped his second straight fight, while Wineland, for his part, snapped a two-fight losing streak and won for the first time since 2014.
