The UFC is expanding its reach internationally with every passing reach, but they haven't finished finding new cities and towns to stage events in the U.S.
For the first time in the organization's history, the UFC will make a stop in Hidalgo, Texas. The news was announced on FS1 during the UFC Fight Night: Lineker vs. McDonald broadcast on Wednesday evening.
The event, which presently doesn't have a number or category, will take place on Sept. 17 at the State Farm Arena. No fights have been announced for this event at the time of this writing.
Hildalgo is a city on the U.S. border with Mexico, with a population of approximately 11,000, making it one of the smallest locations the UFC has visited, both in land area as well as populations.
