There's more good news for Amanda Nunes.
According to her team, Nunes, who defeated Miesha Tate at UFC 200 to become the new UFC women's bantamweight champion, will not require surgery on her injured right hand.
There was some concern that Nunes had broken her hand during her first-round victory Saturday night, and it was placed in a cast afterwards. However, a visit to her doctor on Wednesday confirmed it's not broken after all.
Nunes (13-4) submitted Tate via rear-naked choke at 3:16 of the first round to become the new 135-pound champion. It is unclear at this time whether Tate will require surgery on her injured nose, according to her manager Josh Jones.
