Mixed martial arts legend Dan Henderson topped the disclosed payroll of UFC 199, earning a salary of $800,000 for his stunning knockout over former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard, according to figures released Monday by the California State Athletic Commission.
Henderson, 45, weathered an early storm against Lombard then knocked out the longtime contender with a dazzling head kick to back elbow combination midway through the second round of their UFC 199 main card contest. Henderson mulled retirement in the aftermath of the performance, but held off on making an official decision. Lombard, meanwhile, earned $53,000 in the losing effort.
UFC 199 took place June 4 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The main card aired on pay-per-view.
Aside from Henderson, six other fighters on the card hit the six-figure mark in earnings: new UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping ($250,000), former champion Luke Rockhold ($250,000), UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz ($350,000), Urijah Faber ($160,000), Max Holloway ($150,000), and Dustin Poirier ($110,000).
In addition to their commission-reported salaries, Bisping, Henderson, and undercard fighters Polo Reyes and Dong Hyun Kim all took home $50,000 fight night bonuses for their performances.
A complete list of the UFC 199's salaries can be seen below. As always, these figures do not represent a fighter's total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view earnings or discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed.
