INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- For more than 14 minutes on Saturday night, Brian Ortega looked like he was on his way to his first professional defeat.

Then the Los Angeles fighter delivered one of the most memorable late knockouts you'll ever see. Fighting down the street from his hometown of Torrance, Ortega delivered a perfectly placed knockout knee to finish Clay Guida at 4:40 of the third round at UFC 199 at the Forum.

"Sometimes it takes me a little bit longer to kick into my gears," said Ortega (11-0, 1 NC). "In the third round I was trying to push it more."

Guida (32-17) used his patented stick-and-move style to take the first two rounds, using awkward movement to dart in and out and land just enough with the judges. He also kept it standing to avoid the ground game of Ortega, a Gracie Academy fighter.

Ortega finally went for broke in the final minute, pushing forward and landing a combo. Guida tried to duck out of the way, but walked right into the knee.

After the bout was waved off, a dazed Guida popped back to his feet in a fighting stance and had to be held back. Guida (32-17) has dropped three of his past four fights.
