Michael McDonald vs. John Lineker promoted to UFC Fight Night 91 main event

Michael McDonald vs. John Lineker is now the new main event of UFC Fight Night 91. The change was announced by the UFC on Tuesday.

Originally, lightweights Tony Ferguson and Michael Chiesa were scheduled to headline the card, but Chiesa announced on Monday that he was forced to pull out of his fight with Ferguson due to injury. With Chiesa being out of the main event, the UFC promoted the co-main event bout between McDonald and Lineker to headline the card.

Ferguson, who's ranked third in the lightweight division, will still remain on the card, but will now battle promotional newcomer Landon Vannata in the co-main event.

The 24-year-old Vannata is 8-0 as a professional, finishing seven of his opponents. He's also a member of the Jackson-Wink MMA team in Albuquerque.

UFC Fight Night 91 takes place on July 13 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
