A fight between top-10 welterweights Neil Magny and Dong Hyun Kim is in the works for UFC 202. The news was first reported by Combate on Tuesday and was later confirmed to MMA Fighting per sources.
Magny, currently ranked No. 7 in the division, is looking for his fourth consecutive victory. The 28-year-old fighter last competed on March at UFC Fight Night 85, defeating Hector Lombard via third-round technical knockout. Magny is 10-1 in his past 11 trips to the Octagon. His most recent loss was to Demian Maia on August at UFC 190.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Kim, hasn't competed in 2016. His last fight was in November at UFC Fight Night 79 where he defeated Dominic Waters via first-round technical knockout. Prior to that Kim defeated Josh Burkman at UFC 187, and lost to Tyron Woodley via technical knockout at UFC Fight Night 48 in August 2014.
UFC 202 takes place on Aug. 20 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz is scheduled to headline the card.
