The Invicta FC cage is headed back to Kansas City. Only this time, it's going to be the Historic Scottish Rite Temple.
On Monday, the promotion announced that Invicta FC 18 will take place July 29, and feature bout between undefeated upstart Alexa Grasso against Albuquerque-based fighter Jodie Esquibel.
The strawweights will clash in the main event of the card, which will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
Other bouts announced for the card were a bantamweight fight between Irene Aldana (8-2) and the unbeaten Taila Santos (13-0), a flyweight battle between Polish fighter Agnieszka Niedzwiedz (7-0) against Claudia Ray (6-0), a bantamweight fight between Cindy Dandois (6-2) and UFC veteran Jessymyn Duke (3-4, with one no contest), a featherweight scrap between Megan Anderson (6-2) and The Ultimate Fighter 20 alum Peggy Morgan (4-3), a 115-pound fight between Manjit Kolekar (8-0) and Lynn Alvarez (6-3), and a bantamweight bout between newcomers Sijara Eubanks (1-1) and Amberlynn Orr (0-0).
The 22-year old Grasso (7-0), a Mexican fighter hailing from Guadalajara, Jalisco, last appeared a year-and-a-half ago at Invicta FC 11 in Feb. 2015. She defeated Mizuki Inoue via a unanimous decision. Before then she scored a TKO victory over Alida Gray.
It's been a longer layoff for the 30-year old Esquibel (5-1), a Jackson-Winkeljohn fighter who last appeared in 2014 at Invicta FC 9 in Davenport, Iowa. That night she defeated Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc via unanimous decision.
The Old Scottish Rite Temple, which sits in Kansas City, Kansas, was built in 1908.
