One of SBG Ireland's top prospects -- and a teammate of Conor McGregor -- will make his Bellator debut next month.
James Gallagher, a featherweight up-and-comer, will meet Mike Cutting at Bellator 158 on July 16 in London, the promotion announced Monday. The bout will be on the Spike TV main card.
Gallagher (3-0) won his first three pro fights via submission. The Northern Island native was signed by Bellator in April. Gallagher, just 19 years old, is coming off a first-round rear-naked choke victory over Gerard Gilmore under the BAMMA banner in February.
Cutting (6-5) has exchanged wins and losses since 2012 fighting mostly for BAMMA. The England native most recently fell to Declan Dalton via unanimous decision in February.
Bellator 158 will be headlined by a welterweight contender bout between former champ Douglas Lima and England native Paul Daley. In the co-main event, Michael Page will take on Evagelista Santos.
The initial main event for the card at the O2 was supposed to be Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson before Slice's untimely passing earlier this month.
