It didn’t take long for the UFC to find a new opponent for Gegard Mousasi.
With Derek Brunson out of UFC 200, Thiago Santos has agreed to take on the former Strikeforce and Dream champion in Las Vegas on July 9, sources told MMA Fighting.
Mousasi (38-6-2) enters the bout coming off a unanimous decision win over Thales Leites, bouncing back from a loss to Urial Hall in September.
Santos (13-3) recently scored the biggest win of his MMA career over Nate Marquardt, the third first-round knockout in his current four-fight winning streak in the UFC.
UFC 200 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and features three championship fights: Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones, Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar, and Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes.
