If Saturday night was any indication, Stephen Thompson may very well be the uncrowned champion of 170.

Thompson battered and confused one of the baddest fighters in the division, Rory MacDonald, to capture a unanimous decision and move one step closer towards UFC gold in the main event of UFC Fight Night 89. Afterward, Thompson called for his shot at the welterweight strap, and as always, his fellow fighters were loving it every step of the way.
