Kron Gracie set to face MMA veteran Hideo Tokoro in Rizin event in September

Jiujitsu whiz Kron Gracie will be returning to MMA competition at a Rizin FF event in September. The news was announced by the promotion on Saturday, and details on the match up were later disclosed to MMA Fighting.

The jiujitsu blackbelt is set to make his return against Japanese MMA veteran Hideo Tokoro. This fight will be contested in the featherweight division and it will serve as a super fight – separate from the open weight tournament that will begin on the September card as well.

Gracie last fought at Rizin FF 2 in December in Tokyo, Japan where he submitted Asen Yamamoto with a triangle choke in the first round. The longtime jiujitsu competitor and ADCC gold medalist launched his MMA career back in December 2014, and is now 2-0 with both wins coming by first-round submission.

His opponent, Tokoro has about 16 years of experience in MMA competition, compiling a record of 33 wins, 28 loses and two draws. The 38-year-old Tokoro holds 19 submission victories and has experience competing against members of the Gracie family. Tokoro fought Royce Gracie to a draw in 2005, and outpointed Royler Gracie in 2006. Tokoro last fought at Rizin FF 1 in December, submitting Kizaemon Siaga with a first-round arm-bar.
