James Vick vs. Beneil Dariush targeted for UFC 199

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

The UFC is targeting a lightweight fight between James Vick and Beneil Dariush for UFC 199 after Evan Dunham, Vick's original opponent, recently withdrew from the fight due to undisclosed reasons, MMA Fighting has learned.

Coincidentally just one week ago, Vick agreed to fight Dunham after Leonardo Santos got injured.

Vick (9-0) defeated Glaico Franca via unanimous decision 13 days ago at UFC 197. Meanwhile, Dariush (12-2) was submitted by Michael Chiesa a week prior at UFC on FOX 19, snapping his five-fight winning streak.

UFC 199, co-headlined by Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman 2 and Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber 3, will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on June 4.
