A former WEC champion will make his return to the Octagon in July.
Eddie Wineland, the first holder of the WEC bantamweight belt in 2006, will meet Frankie Saenz at UFC on FOX 20 in Chicago on July 23. Red Eye Chicago initially reported the bout Wednesday.
Wineland (22-11-1), of nearby northwest Indiana, hasn't fought since a decision loss to Bryan Caraway at the same United Center last July. His last win was a knockout victory over Yves Jabouin in 2014.
Saenz (11-3) of Phoenix, last competed at UFC 194, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Urijah Faber. The loss snapped a seven-fight win streak, which included victories in his first three UFC matchups.
