'Kid' Yamamoto has suffered another injury and won't be returning to the octagon at UFC Fight Night 89. The UFC announced the news on Thursday.
Former UFC title challenger Joe Soto (15-5) will look for his first UFC win, stepping up as a late replacement to fight Chris Beal. Soto, who's first fight in the UFC was against T.J. Dillashaw for the bantamweight title, is currently in a three-fight losing streak. Soto last fought in January at UFC 195 where he lost a split decision to Michinori Tanaka.
Beal (10-2) also finds himself in a similar situation. The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 cast member is returning to the bantamweight division after having an 0-2 run in the UFC's flyweight division. Beal's last victory was in the bantamweight division where he defeated Tateki Matsuda via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 50 on September 2014.
UFC Fight Night 89 takes place on June 18 at the TD Place Arenain Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Top welterweight contenders Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson are schedule to headline the card.
