The UFC is trying to book a rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor, but there's no deal done just yet.
However, an Instagram post, taken after the lunch, showed Diaz, Fertitta, White and others visiting a mural of Diaz in Stockton. Sources tell MMA Fighting that Diaz and White were able to briefly put their blowup past them, but no deal was finalized.
The meeting with Diaz came two days after White met McGregor for dinner in Beverly Hills, the first meeting between the two since the dispute which caused the Diaz-McGregor rematch to be pulled from UFC 200. That meeting went well and the sides agreed on targeting UFC 202 on Aug. 20 for the rematch.
Diaz wanted White and Fertitta to come to his hometown after he heard about the McGregor meeting in Beverly Hills, and the UFC brass obliged. They hoped to finalize a deal on Friday, but it wasn't meant to be. The deal is not dead, though.
Diaz beat McGregor in a welterweight fight in the main event of UFC 196 in their first matchup.
