Jordan Rinaldi replaces Carlos Diego Ferreira, fights Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night 88

Abel Trujillo has a new opponent, as Jordan Rinaldi will be replacing Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 88. The news was announced on Tuesday by the UFC.

Last week, Carlos Diego Ferreira, Trujillo's original opponent, was removed from the UFC Fight Night 88 card due to a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation in a recent out-of-competition drug test with USADA, leaving Trujillo without an opponent. However, lightweight fighter Jordan Rinaldi has stepped up on short notice to face the Blackzillians fighter.

UFC newcomer Rinaldi (12-4) currently finds himself in a five-fight wining streak. He last competed in December at Fight Lab Promotions 52, submitting Lashawn Alcocks in the second round with an arm-bar. The North Carolina fighter holds seven submission wins and has competed promotions such as World Series Of Fighting, Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Championship.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Trujillo (14-6-1 NC) is 4-1 in his last five trips to the octagon. He last fought at UFC 195 in January where he earned a submission victory over Tony Sims.

UFC Fight Night 88 takes place in Las Vegas, Nev. on May 29. Top undefeated bantamweight prospects Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt are set to battle in the main event of the card.
