John Lineker set to clash with Michael McDonald at UFC Fight Night 91

An intriguing bantamweight fight has been added for the UFC's first event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

John Lineker is set to face Michael McDonald in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 91, as first reported by UFC Tonight.

The one-time flyweight Lineker has been streaking as a bantamweight, going 2-0 since making the move to 135 pounds. He just scored a unanimous decision over Rob Font at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil on May 14. Before then he submitted Francisco Rivera at UFC 191.

Overall, the 26-year-old Brazilian has won four fights in a row going back to his flyweight days. Trouble making weight forced his move to 135 pounds.

McDonald, meanwhile, came back from a two-year hiatus at UFC 195 in January to defeat Masanori Kanehara via submission (rear-naked choke). Before then he fought three times in 2013, scoring a victory over Brad Pickett while dropping fights against Urijah Faber and Renan Barao — the latter of which was for the interim bantamweight title.

UFC Fight Night 91 takes place at the Denny Sanford Premier Center on July 13. The card will be headlined by lightweight contenders Tony Ferguson and Michael Chiesa. A middleweight bout between Josh Samman and veteran Tim Boetch is also slated for the event.
