The UFC 199 main event has taken a hit.
Chris Weidman, who was scheduled to fight Luke Rockhold for the middleweight title, has been forced to withdraw from the card due to an injury, MMA Fighting has confirmed. As of Tuesday afternoon, the promotion is still looking for a replacement to fight Rockhold on a little more than two weeks' notice.
Talk MMA first tweeted the possibility of the news.
On the current shortlist to replace Weidman: Ronaldo Souza, who just defeated Vitor Belfort this past weekend, and Michael Bisping. No decision has been made just yet. Bisping tweeted that he would take the fight if officially offered:
Training camps separate the boys from the men. This sport isn't for everyone. 2 weeks notice? I'm down!!! @ufc #realfighter #fightersfighter
