A bantamweight bout pitting UFC veteran Rani Yahya with UFC newcomer Matthew Lopez has been added to UFC Fight Night 91. The news was announced by the promotion Tuesday.
The 31-year-old Yahya (21-8-1NC) hasn't been too active in recent years. He last competed at UFC Fight Night 71 on July 2015 where he earned a split decision win over Masanori Kanehara. Prior to that, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt submitted Johnny Bedford with a kimura at at UFC Fight Night 51 on September 2014.
His opponent, Matthew Lopez (8-0), has earned seven finishes out of eight fights, submitting his past four opponents in the first round. The 29-year-old fighter last competed at RFA 37 on October 2015, submitting Eli Finn.
UFC Fight Night 91 takes place at Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. on July 13. Lightweight standouts Tony Ferguson and Michael Chiesa are scheduled to headline the card.
