Report: UFC officially pulls the plug on Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor at UFC 200

The UFC has officially pulled the plug on the Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor rematch at UFC 200, according to TMZ.com.

UFC president Dana White had hinted during multiple media appearances on Wednesday that if McGregor picked up the phone and called him, the welterweight fight with Diaz, which was scheduled for UFC 200 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, would be back on.

That was just one day after Tuesday's he said/he said, in which McGregor abruptly declared his retirement and the UFC said they pulled McGregor from the Diaz bout.

On Thursday, McGregor made his first public statement in a lengthy Facebook post, in which he pointed out his last three fights generated $400 million for the company and asked to have his promotional responsibilities eased for this one fight, as he looked to rebound from his first UFC loss, to Diaz.

A couple hours later, the TMZ piece appeared, claiming the fight was officially canceled.

No word yet on the new main event for UFC 200.
