Rose Namajunas vs. Tecia Torres now set for co-main event at UFC on FOX 19

Saturday night's UFC on FOX 19 in Tampa has a new co-main event.

With the fight card undergoing yet another revision after it was revealed that Lyoto Machida admitted to taking a banned substance, the pivotal strawweight bout between Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres now moves into the penultimate spot. The news was made official during UFC Tonight on Wednesday.

The main event will be a light heavyweight bout between Rashad Evans and Glover Teixeira. Also being bumped up from the prelims to the main card is the featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Hacran Dias.

Machida was supposed to face Dan Henderson in co-main event, a fight that was thrust into the spot when it was learned that Tony Ferguson was forced out of his main event spot with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

UFC on FOX 19 has went through many iterations, as Rashad Evans was originally supposed to face Mauricio Rua. Caio Magalhaes was also forced off the card recently for his fight with Cezar Ferreira. He was replaced with Oluwale Bamgbose. Nurmagomedov will now face UFC debutant Darrell Horcher in the main card.

The 23-year-old Namajunas has won back-to-back fights, including a dominant submission victory over Paige VanZant at UFC Fight Night 80 in December. Torres is undefeated in seven fights, and has gone 3-0 in the UFC. Her last victory came against Jocelyn Jone-Lybarger at UFC 194.
