Conor McGregor suffered his first defeat inside the Octagon against Nate Diaz at UFC 196, tapping to a rear-naked choke Saturday night in Las Vegas, and Jose Aldo hopes he returns to 145 pounds next.
Aldo, who lost his featherweight belt to "The Notorious" in just 13 seconds last December, reacted to McGregor’s loss on social media, asking for a rematch at the UFC 200 event on July 9.
"Conor I'll see you at UFC200, your Cinderella fantasy is over," Aldo wrote. "Nowhere to run to now - you're gonna have to give me my rematch, you p*ssy!"
McGregor (19-3) was initially slated to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight crown at UFC 196, but the Brazilian pulled out 12 days before the fight with a broken foot. Diaz replaced the champion, beating the Irishman in a welterweight contest. The loss snapped McGregor’s 15-fight winning streak.
