Jose Aldo, three others sign with Reebok

Four fighters have joined the Reebok team, including former featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

The Brazilian veteran, who negotiated with the company for months, attended an event in Sao Paulo on Thursday to announce the deal. Rising prospect Thomas Almeida, as well as teammate Felipe Arantes and upcoming strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha, also signed deals with the apparel company.

Aldo (25-2) reigned as the best featherweight on the planet for six years before losing to Conor McGregor at UFC 194. The Brazilian fighter is currently campaigning for a shot at the 145-pound belt for his return to the Octagon.

Almeida (21-0) has impressed so far in his UFC career, knocking out three of his four opponents inside the Octagon and collecting post-fight $50,000 bonuses after all of his bouts. The promotion has yet to announce when he’s coming back to action.

Arantes (17-7-1) made his successful bantamweight debut in August, tapping Yves Jabouin with an armbar in the first round. Prior to the bout, "Sertanejo" racked up a 3-3-1 UFC record as a featherweight with wins over Maximo Blanco, Godofredo Pepey and Antonio Carvalho.

Gadelha (13-1) is slated to coach opposite UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk on The Ultimate Fighter 23 before rematching Jedrzejczyk for the belt on July 8 in Las Vegas.

Top middleweight contender Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza was the first Brazilian to sign a deal with Reebok.
