A lightweight bout between Marcin Held (21-4) and Dave Jansen (20-3) and a heavyweight scrap pairing Chase Gormley (12-5) versus Joey Beltran (17-12) have been added to complete the main card of Bellator 155. The news was announced on Thursday by the promotion. MMAjunkie first reported the fights Wednesday.
Held last competed on November at Bellator 155 where he failed to seize the Bellator lightweight title against Will Brooks, losing to the champion via unanimous decision. That loss snapped a six-fight winning streak for the Polish lightweight.
His opponent, Jansen, is also coming off a unanimous decision loss to the Bellator lightweight champ Brooks almost a year ago at Bellator 136. Prior to that, the 36-year-old Jansen was on a seven-fight wining streak that included a decision victory over Held at Bellator 93.
In the heavyweight bout, former Titan FC heavyweight champion Chase Gormley looks to earn his first Bellator victory after losing to Dan Charles in his debut at Bellator 143 back in September.
Meanwhile, Beltran will be making his return to the heavyweight division after a four-year run in the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions. The Mexicutioner is 3-3 since joining Bellator back in 2013, fighting notable names like Quinton Jackson, Vladimir Matyushenko, Emanuel Newton, Brian Rogers and Kendall Grove.
Bellator 155 takes place at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho on May 20. Rafael Carvalho is scheduled to defend his middleweight title against Melvin Manhoef in the main event of the card.
