Jiu-jitsu ace Gabi Garcia will return to the Rizin Fighting Federation ring on April 17.
Less than four months her successful MMA debut in December, the grappling wizard will take on Anna Malyukova in a light heavyweight contest at the Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan. Sources close to the promotion confirmed the match-up to MMAFighting.com following a report by Combate.
Garcia scored her first MMA win against Lei’d Tapa on Dec. 31, surviving an early scare and getting the TKO finish in under three minutes. In jiu-jitsu and grappling, Garcia won six IBJJF World Championships and one ADCC gold medal. Malyukova also holds a 1-0 MMA record.
The event features Japanese veterans Kazushi Sakuraba and Hideo Tokoro teaming up for a grappling tag match against Wanderlei Silva and a fighter still to be announced. The other three MMA bouts already official are Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Jiri Prochazka, Allan Nascimento vs. Yuki Motoya and Hisaki Kato vs. Yuta Watanabe.
