Alan Patrick has a new opponent for his return to the Octagon.

The Brazilian lightweight, who was originally booked against Chad Laprise at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane, Australia, will now take on newcomer Damien Brown, the promotion announced.

Laprise will take on UFC veteran Ross Pearson after Abel Trujillo was forced out of the card with visa issues.

Patrick (12-1) racked up a perfect record from 2008 to 2015, but suffered the first loss of his MMA career against Mairbek Taisumov last June. The X-Gym product finished his opponent in half of his MMA wins, including a first-round TKO over Garret Whiteley in his UFC debut.

Brown (15-8), born in Queensland, enters the UFC riding a five-fight winning streak with four finishes. "Beatdown", who turned 31 years old in December, scored eight of his victories by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night 85 is scheduled for March 19 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and features former heavyweight champion Frankie Mir versus Mark Hunt in the main event.
