Luke Barnatt vs. Jason 'Mayhem' Miller booked for Venator FC III

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Jason "Mayhem" Miller is coming out of retirement.

Miller has signed with Italian-based Venator FC and will face the promotion's middleweight champion Luke Barnatt for the belt on May 21, 2016 in Milan, Italy, MMAFighting.com has learned.

Miller (28-9. 1 NC) hasn't fought since his May 2012 loss to C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146. Since then, the 35-year-old has found himself in a slew of legal troubles.

"Mayhem" Miller is a beast,"  Venator FC President Frank Merenda stated. "He is one of the most beloved fighters of all time and people have badly missed such a performer with guts, attitude and at the same time a strong will to win big and to entertain. He’s a huge, huge achievement for Venator FC to have him back in the saddle for the fans all around the world."

Barnatt (9-3) won the Venator FC middleweight title in December when he submitted Mattia Schiavolin via fourth-round rear-naked choke submission. The win marked Barnatt's first since his release from the UFC in May. Prior to the Miller fight, Barnatt is scheduled to meet Charles Andrade on Feb. 20 at BCMMA 14 in England.

Also slated to appear on the Venator FC III card is former UFC light heavyweight Matt Hamill.
