Chris Weidman will get the rematch he wanted.
UFC president Dana White told Garbage Time's Katie Nolan on Wednesday that Luke Rockhold will make his first middleweight title defense in a rematch with Weidman at UFC 199 in June. No exact date was given.
Rockhold (15-2) beat Weidman via fourth-round TKO at UFC 194 in December. Overall, he has won five in a row, including victories over Lyoto Machida and Michael Bisping. Rockhold, 31, might have faced Yoel Romero next, but Romero has been provisionally suspended by USADA for a potential violation of the UFC's anti-doping policy.
Weidman (13-1) was undefeated heading into the bout with Rockhold. He dethroned longtime champion Anderson Silva to win the belt in 2013 and made three successful title defenses. Weidman, 31, owns wins over Silva, Machida and Vitor Belfort.
There was no word on whether Rockhold-Weidman would be the event headliner or where the UFC is targeting to hold the card.
