It appears as though Alistair Overeem will clash with a familiar face in May.

The UFC is currently targeting a heavyweight bout between Overeem and fellow JacksonWink teammate Andrei Arlovski for the main event of the May 8 Rotterdam, Netherlands show, MMAFighting.com has learned.

Bleacher Report's Jeremy Botter first tweeted the news on Saturday.

The Dutch-born Overeem (40-14, 1 NC), who signed a new contract with the UFC on Monday, has won his last three fights in a row. He most recently won via TKO over long-time rival Junior dos Santos in December.

Arlovski (25-11, 1 NC) had a six-fight winning streak snapped in January when he was knocked out by Stipe Miocic. The loss marked his first since March 2013.

Greg Jackson told MMAFighting.com on Saturday that while both men will in fact train for the fight at the JacksonWink Academy in Albuquerque, N.M., they will train at different times with different coaches. As for Jackson, he'll corner Arlovski in the fight. Famously, Jackson refused to corner teammates Carlos Condit and Georges St-Pierre prior to UFC 154 in 2012, however, he explained, "Usually I would step out, but Andrei is a special case."

Also scheduled for the UFC's debut event in the Netherlands is another heavyweight fight between Dutch-born Stefan Struve and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.

In November, MMAFighting.com asked Overeem about the possibility of fighting Arlovski, and he seemed open to the idea (5:09 mark):
