Lauren Murphy gets new opponent in debuting Kelly Faszholz at UFC Fight Night 83

UFC matchmakers Joe Silva and Sean Shelby are putting in overtime this week.

Three fighters pulled out of bouts due to injury at UFC Fight Night 83, which is scheduled for this Sunday in Pittsburgh, and the UFC found their opponents replacements on short notice.

The latest? Debuting Kelly Faszholz will meet Lauren Murphy, who was originally supposed to face Sarah Moras in a women's bantamweight bout on the card.

Murphy (8-2), the former Invicta FC women's bantamweight champion, has lost both of her fights in the UFC, but against elite opponents Liz Carmouche and Sara McMann. The 32-year-old Alaska native trains out of the MMA Lab in Arizona.

Faszholz (3-0) has three submission wins in three career fights. She's coming off a rear-naked choke victory over Brittney Elkin at Prize Fighting Championship 12 in November in Denver. Faszholz, a Santa Rosa, Calif., native went 2-0 last year after taking two years off from pro MMA.

This week, the UFC also got Cody Garbrandt and Leonardo Guimaraes new opponents. Garbrandt will meet Murphy's training partner Augusto Mendes and Guimaraes takes on Anthony Smith. Garbrandt was supposed to face John Lineker and Guimaraes was supposed to meet Trevor Smith.

UFC Fight Night 83 is headlined by a welterweight feature fight between Donald Cerrone and Alex Oliveira -- two men who have the same "Cowboy" nickname. In the co-main event, middleweight contenders Roan Carneiro and Derek Brunson will face off.
