Bryan Barberena has already knocked off an all-American prospect. Now, he's faced with one of the best up-and-coming fighters from Brazil.

Barberena, who beat Sage Northcutt last month, will meet Warlley Alves at the UFC's currently untitled event on May 14 in Brazil, UFC Brasil announced Tuesday on Instagram.

Barberena (11-3) beat Northcutt, the much-hyped prospect, by second-round submission at UFC on FOX 18 on Jan. 30. The Minnesota native has now won two of three in the UFC and eight of nine overall. Barberena, 26, trains out of the MMA Lab in Arizona.

Alves (10-0) has never lost as a pro and finished all but three of his past opponents. The Brazilian is coming off a first-round submission of fellow top prospect Colby Covington at UFC 194 in December. Alves, 25, was The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 middleweight winner and also owns wins over Alan Jouban and Nordine Taleb in the UFC.

The UFC Brazil event on May 14 does not currently have a main event, city or official title. It could be on pay-per-view or FOX Sports 1. The co-main event will pit Brazilian middleweight standouts Vitor Belfort and Ronaldo Souza against one another. Demian Maia will also meet Matt Brown on the card.
