The rematch is going to have to wait.

Bellator announced middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho has been forced out of his Dec. 10 bout with Melvin Manhoef with an injury.

The new main event for the Bellator 168 card, which takes place at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy, will be Italian fighter Alessio Sakara against veteran Joey Beltran.

Carvalho and Manhoef fought a hotly contested fight back in May at Bellator 155, with Carvalho emerging as the victor via split decision. The Brazilian won the vacant middleweight title against Brandon Halsey at Bellator 144 last October via second-round TKO.

The 40-year-old Manhoef had won his previous bout against Hisaki Kato last November via first-round knockout.
