A knee injury forced Luke Rockhold out of a five-round rematch with Ronaldo Souza in Melbourne on Nov. 26, and the Brazilian middleweight is trying to guarantee that he’s next in line for a shot at 185-pound champion Michael Bisping.
"Jacare" called out the champion as soon as his UFC Fight Night 101 main event fight got cancelled, and Bisping explained why he wouldn’t fight the Brazilian at UFC 206 even though he said previously that he would face either Georges St-Pierre or Nate Diaz at the same card.
Hoping to finally earn his title shot, Souza posted a video in English on his Instagram account, asking Bisping to "stop running" and prove he can be a "real champion."
"Stop running from me, Bisping," Souza said. "It’s time to face a real contender. Real champion fight a real contender. You need to show to the world that you can be a real champion. I’m next. You wanna fight me."
