As it turns out, Mirsad Bektic will be able to fight at UFC 204.
The UFC announced Tuesday featherweight Bektic will face Russell Doane. Doane takes the fight on five days' notice and is the third-announced opponent for Bektic.
Bektic was originally set to face Arnold Allen, but the British fighter had to withdraw due to injury. A replacement in Jeremy Kennedy was eventually announced as Allen's replacement, but he, too, was injured and forced to withdraw from the bout.
Bektic, 25, is 3-0 in the UFC and undefeated in his career, generally, with a record of 10-0. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 67 in May of 2015 when he defeated Lucas Martins in the second round via TKO.
Doane, 30, enters this bout on a three-fight losing streak with a 2-3 record in the UFC and 14-6 professional record. He last competed at UFC Fight Night 90 in July.
UFC 204 takes place at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on Saturday, Oct. 8th.
