After an impressive UFC debut, Brandon Moreno will return to the Octagon to face Ryan Benoit at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. The news was announced by UFC Español on Wednesday.
Moreno competed at TUF 24 and was eliminated in the first round of the tournament. He then got a call to fight top- 0 flyweight Louis Smolka on short notice at UFC Fight Night 96 in October. The 22-year-old Mexican fighter shocked the world, defeating Smolka with guillotine choke in the first round. With that win, 'The Assassin Baby' is now ranked 14 in the 125-pound division and improved his professional MMA record to 12-3. Moreno is also riding a nine-fight winning streak.
His opponent, Benoit is coming off a split decision win over Fredy Serrano at UFC 201 back in July. The 27-year-old fighter is 2-2 in the UFC and 9-4 as a professional fighter. He holds a technical knockout win over Sergio Pettis.
The TUF 24 Finale will be held on Dec. 3 at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Demetrious Johnson is scheduled to defend his flyweight title against the winner of the TUF 24 season in the main event of the card.
